no special lens - have you seen photo prints on canvass? they are presented like paintings. i've seen examples lately - the south pine in gv has a few of flowers. i think they would adhere nicely to nor cal/so oregon series of ten or so images.
david mcKay does large canvas repo's of his river shots. looks good although i'm not sure i like the idea of mixing the 2. a painting is a painting, a photo a photo.
