Hwy 3, Spring Sun & Sky

  1. The highway is just under 100 miles long and goes from Yreka to Weaverville. It follows the Toms River, goes by the Marble Mountains near Etna, over Rainy Pass (Pacific Crest Trail access - still lots of snow), and passes Trinity Lake. In other words, HWY 3 is my new favorite highway.

  2. where in the world did you get this incredible camera???
I mean, your artistic perspectives are really cool, but the "high def" just blows me away. REALLY makes me wanna come & spend more time in Oregon- a high compliment.

  5. we used to have a gold mine at sawyers bar up a winding dirt logging road just up from yreka. spent a summer there (13?) in brautigan-est cabin built over a creek. remember johhny and i having fried bacon with an old toothless prospector in his ramshackle cabin. everyone walked around w/ lugars on the hip. remember having to move an outside overflowing with shit, burying the shit and digging a new hole. ruggedly independent miners.

Sorry Lew, I hurt my back, I can't help dig a new privy/outhouse- but I'll bring my camera to record it (now that you know the right end of a shovel from those new planter beds)
