Superbowl Resurrection

Sunday, July 4th, 2013. Super Bowl IVV. Denver Broncos 41, Green Bay Packers 39. 4th Quarter, one minute left, Green Bay’s ball on their own 35.

Aaron Rodgers rolls back to pass when he’s crushed by an unblocked linebacker blitzing hard from the backfield. Rodgers’ body bounces off the grass and lays still, neck bent awkwardly, arms laid out, toes twitching. The entire stadium goes silent. Millions of folks, glued to their televisions, hold their breath while sirens sound and trainers rush the field. Both teams take a knee. Teary eyed teammates link hands in prayer.

Then, slowly from the sidelines, Tim Tebow rises to his feet and removes his helmet. TV cameras take notice and focus in. The crowd begins to whisper and point. A sea of on-field doctors and trainers part a path for Tebow. Tebow walks up slowly and takes a knee by Rodgers. He places his hand on Rodgers forehead, closes his eyes, ignites the limp body back to life, helps Rodgers to his feet, dusts him off, and wishes him luck on the game winning drive, forever altering the course of human history.
