I can't tell what I like more- the rusted Ford, Mt Laughlin (sp?) so I'll take these TRACKS! you've got the light just about perfect... don't you feel invited to just start walking down the sleepers?-- one of life's great poignancies, ah, where do these tracks go??? Methinks you've got a great future in the arts my friend
I'd love to ride the rails. Hop from one train to the next, mildly aware of destination, sip coffee between rattles and shakes, sneak on a few, run from the bulls! Like Guthrie with a camera instead of guitar.
or maybe an outtake from "O Brother" where they escaped and stayed shackled to each other for what, three days? but this photo certainly captures "the romance of the rails..."
i rode a boxcar 1/2 way thru texas, thought i was going to die..be prepared, water food blanket..no getting off till the dust filled box car oven slows enough for a running jump and roll. romantic? in retrospect yes, not so much at the time.
